                                                               UNIT – II 
INTERFERENCE OF LIGHT
 Theory of interference, Coherent sources, Fresnel’s biprism, Determination of wavelength by biprism, Thickness of thin mica sheet, Llyod mirror, Achromatic fringes. Interference in thin films, Colours in thin films, Interference in wedge-shaped films, Theory and applications of Newton’s rings, Michelson interferometer and its applications.
